Systems Integration
Take a Look
Honeybee is frequently asked to develop systems that will function within a larger existing system. The subsystems we design, code, and assemble are challenging in that they must be developed within the context of a larger system. When developing or integrating subsystems we are always presented with power, signal, mass, and volume limitations of some kind. Planetary missions, in particular, can be extremely challenging due to mass and power constraints.
Two such systems, pictured to the right, are the Rock Abrasion Tool (RAT), integral to the Mars Exploration Mission, and the Sample Manipulation System (SMS), integral to the Sample Analysis at Mars (SAM) Suite Investigation.
Notable as well are our efforts in the Construction & Resource Utilization eXplorer (CRUX), a project of significant complexities of systems engineering and co-engineering involved in the integration of an ambitious, mission-scale payload suite.
