In order to provide the large assemblies necessary for future space structures, including the next generation of space telescopes, the in-orbit assembly of compactly launched structures will be necessary. One such structure is the Starburst Deployable Reflector Truss, envisioned to meet the need for an on-orbit deployable large telescope reflector. Honeybee has worked closely with NASA’s Langley Research Center (LaRC) to develop the enabling technologies for these structures.
